Explore the Transitional and Contemporary Furnishings of Sunpan Modern Home
One of the many exciting things about attending the High Point Furniture Market is the opportunity to source brands and designers that are fabulous, and when you’re at the market that means you’re wowed by almost everything showing there.
One name that really stood out to me this year was Sunpan. Nevermind I already LOVE and use them, but it’s must-see showroom at every market!
Sunpan is all about a sense of modernity, clean lines, and elegant-yet-stylish simplicity.
This global company strives to create items that have an internationally-influenced aesthetic and they reflect trends of fashion and interior design, but in a way that also manages to be timeless.
Many of the items are characterized by straight clean lines with some unexpected elements thrown into the mix. There’s also a wide combination of materials used in their collections and even though the focus is of course beautiful design, the pieces are meant to be functional as well.
I love Sunpan so much that I use their items in my clients’ homes including my recent design of Maria Menonous’ home, and the result has been amazing thanks to the impact of the pieces.
On display at this year’s Market were items primarily from the MIXT collection. I loved the mixed use of materials like the Warwick Dining Table, with a thick concrete slab top combined with wood legs. The table top is so industrial and made from a natural concrete mix with variations of gray, while the thick base was made from acacia wood with an espresso finish, for a visually exciting combination.
Other items like the Castor End Table, made from natural concrete and available in gray, black and white, is an amazing cubed accent table that’s urban and can be used inside or out.
The Catalan Coffee table is another beautiful piece from the MIXT collection, which a concrete top and brushed stainless steel legs. ( Not to mention, I lived in Barcelona for a month last year, in the Catalan region) The look is one that’s refined and not overpowering yet bold enough to become a statement piece. Other pieces in the Catalan grouping include end tables, dining tables, coffee tables and end tables.
While most of the items from the MIXT collection are industrial and urban in their design, you’ll also find items that feature upholstery in leather and bold color options, sculpturally-inspired lighting, dining tables and chairs, and even sofas.
Sunpan is definitely a company offering furnishings that display the intersection between furniture and fashion that’s always exciting to experiment with and create new possibilities. Thank High Point Market Sponsored Blogger Program for allowing me to tell everyone about Sunpan and their gorgeous furnishings!
