Remember the days when your bathroom was all about functionality over form and style?
Neither do I.
I, like most women (and many men as well), love a great bathroom. I get really excited when I see how much focus there is on bathroom design these days. There’s innovative new styles, materials and ideas but my favorite part of some of the trends we’re seeing in bathrooms right now is that I can see them being timeless.
The best bathroom trends of 2015 aren’t about being over-the-top or too daring—instead the trends I love and embrace are the ones that I can see having staying power for years to come. Lots of classic, clean lines, beautiful materials and elegant opulence.
The Freestanding Tub
Let’s be honest, is there anything more appealing than a bathroom with a freestanding tub? Probably not. Lucky for anyone who loves a great bath, bathroom design is all about a luxurious, large and statement-making soaking tub right now.

Glamorous Tile Options
I’m really partial to this trend, especially since I just launched my line for The TileBar.com
Really glam tile and statement-making details like backsplashes aren’t just for the kitchen anymore—bring it to the bathroom.

Outside the Box Vanities
Along with tile, vanities are becoming one of the best ways to put your own stamp on your bathroom. From colorful to customized, you’re not limited in your bathroom vanity selection at all these days.

Futuristic Fixtures
While I love traditional elegance in the bathroom, it can be fun to experiment with funky and fun fixtures. Some of my favorite designs came from Jason Wu’s collaboration with Brizo and included things like stark white and solid black faucets with simple, graceful lines.

Octagon Mirrors
Using an octagon in place of a traditional oval or rectangular bathroom mirror feels really fresh, but it doesn’t have to be something you use in just a modern bathroom—it’s a shape that works in any style space.
