Even though we’re only in the middle of 2014, I’m already looking ahead to the trends for 2015, and one starting to make a presence is the use of naturally-inspired décor, indoors. We’re normally talking about how to bring the indoors outside, but this is all about incorporating a bit of nature within the walls of your home.
What’s great is the fact that there’s so many ways to incorporate natural elements into your décor, from simple statements like the use of natural wood or shades of green, to more directly inspired pieces that focus on flowers or wildlife.

Shades of Green
Green is the number one color most of us associate with nature, so why not incorporate green either in the form of paint or furniture, or actual greenery, into our homes. It has a calming influence, and can balance well with other colors.

Furniture that Embraces Nature
Some of my favorite pieces of furniture right now are the ones that really preserve the authentic look of the wood as it’s found in nature. I love the shape and aesthetic of these rugged, individualized pieces, particularly when they’re combined with more sleek, modern finishes like metal or acrylic.
